EMPACT disaster team members are currently packing their bags with rescue gear and medical equipment preparing to provide support in the Philippines as one of the most severe tropical storms in the region’s history makes landfall.
The first 72 hours of any disaster are critical in terms of medical and rescue support, and EMPACT intends to put our first wave of boots on the ground in the next 48 hours. This team will provide the critical information needed to manage incoming relief efforts including medical care, supplies, and fuel relief from our network of disaster organizations. Secondary support teams will follow in the days to come.
Stateside support staff and the disaster team will be meeting tomorrow at 10:00am to finalize all deployment details.
If you would like to donate to this effort you may do so at EMPACT Northwest’s Website at www.empactnorthwest.org
