Announcing a New Belize Partnership!

Empact is thrilled to announce a new partner in our work in #Belize! During a recent trip to the Cayo District of Belize, Empact Executive Director Jake Gillanders, Preparedness Programs Manager Jason Zimmerman, and Canine Unit Leader La Fond Davis met with the leadership team of the Belize Institute for Search and Rescue Training (BISART); and laid the groundwork for an exciting new partnership!

With years of experience and training in #jungle extraction and cave, rope, and swift water rescue; the volunteers of BISART are well poised to grow and develop the nation's rescue capabilities alongside partners at the Belize National Fire Service, Empact Northwest, Belize Heroes, and Trek Medics. This partnership will allow for exciting mutual learning opportunities. Empact brings additional expertise in rope and collapse rescue to expand BISART's capabilities. At the same time, BISART will be able to profoundly expand Empact's capabilities by teaching our members the nuances of working in the jungle, in caves, and performing swift water rescues in the unique setting of a Central American rainy season.
